CFC Melbourne - 28th Years and Beyond

Zech 4: 6 the Bible says - This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. All this work we are doing belongs to the Lord.

More than a 200 members of Couples for Christ and its Family Ministries from all over Melbourne gathered to celebrate the community’s 28th anniversary at St Brigid’s Parish Hall Fitzroy North last 17th of August 2019.
The event, which was hosted by the South West Chapter, opened with a Worship led by Bro Beng De Leon, National Director of CFC Australia.

With the TV sitcom inspired theme ”Fresh Prince of Bel Air”, CFC Melbourne celebrated 28 fruitful years by reminiscing all the beautiful Jesus moments of the community through creative performances, a parade of 80’s and 90’s colours, gimmicks, sumptuous dinner, inspirational messages from CFC leaders, and worship.

South East Chapter led by Bro Neil and Sis Arlene Teanio proved that when it comes to dancing, theirs is the one Chapter to beat. South East Chapter was announced as the overall winner of the 80’s or 90’s theme inspired presentation.

Kids For Christ Music Ministry Band SFCs Denny & Alec belting out "Don't Stop Believing!"

Other Chapters also showcased their dance moves with South West showcasing each couple strutting out their 90’s, which sent the whole hall in South West Couples Chapter showdown roaring thunder! Another applauded group was the Youth for Christ Dance Group who performed their presentation at the OYC which they placed 1st runner up in the Creative Competitions.

Bro Bong Bernardo, Cluster Head of CFC Victoria, delivered the Welcome remarks and reminded everyone of what happened in the last 28 years in the histpory of CFC Melbourne.

Fr. Rowan celebrated the Mass with the Youth For Christ leading the Choir ministry. Truly, it was a celebration of the Lord’s faithfulness to CFC Melbourne whose members have exhibited excellence in service and intensity in the love and effort they have given towards the fulfilment of the CFC Vision of “Families in the Holy Spirit Renewing the Face of the Earth”. May the grace of the Lord be upon each and everyone of us who is here.

Today as we look back to the mercies of the Lord in our lives, it has been a long journey but we keep counting the blessings of the Lord. His grace is sufficient to us as a church and let us congratulate each and everyone for participating to make this journey a success. The Lord has used and we are happy that the war is to Him we only enjoy the victory he gives. Let Him be praised always. (Vivian Sarmiento)
