CFC Sydney NSW 2014 Family Day

It was a labour of love for more than a week for some 5 members of our CFC Blacktown chapter to create this beautiful masterpiece that became the center of many group photos and discussions during the CFC annual family picnic held today, 7 December 2014 in Cecil Hills, Sydney. This day coincided with the culmination of the global community’s 33 days of consecration to Mary. The selected judges honoured the efforts of all the chapters and ministries in making the lantern tradition in the context of beauty and purpose in re-using recycled materials.

The LOVE lantern, among the 7 others, depicted from its designs and colours a transformation from throw away materials of corrugated cardboards, water bottles, straw, jutes, wood into something beautiful. The creators suggested that inner strength and beauty should be shared and shown to all so that we can serve God more and we can love more.

There were also games for all ages, and food sharing as usual.

The rains held up and just came down after the closing prayers were said at 3.00pm.

Happy family day and may the glorious Mother Mary keep her grip and watch over us all….
