I am a Non-Filipino who attended the 2014 HOLD Conference in Perth, Western Australia during October 2014. What a truly wonderful experience. I was accepted and felt as one with the Group the whole time. We had amazing Speakers who were well informed and passionate about their talks. I came away with a new insight on my personal relationship with our Lord and how I can further improve to establish a better intimate relationship with God. Furthermore, I was given important questions to reflect and meditate on even after the conference.
The Sharers were inspiring and left me feeling blessed and privileged with their stories of endurance and moral courage. Despite of the storms they have faced and still facing, they hold on to their faith and believe in God's healing. They looked all at peace, although two are cancer survivors and a lady who travelled with us was blind.
It was not just prayers and reflections. Each evening we had fun. Each area that attended put on a Presentation with costumes and dancing. Everyone young and old blended together irrespective of age, race and the states they came from.
This was a totally different experience for me. I have learned to start eating Filipino dishes and once in a while have to remind my sisters to speak English when they get carried away in our conversations. Just the same I look forward to more conferences and household meetings! I am truly happy to be God’s beloved and to be chosen and called a member of the CFC-HOLD community.
