It was no accident that the Lord called young couples 30 years ago, those who have recently completed their Christian Life Program in the Philippines, to migrate to Australia and begin the work of establishing and propagating the ministry of Couples for Christ. In this great South Land of the Holy Spirit, God’s grand design used willing and grateful hearts to be guided, prompted, emboldened, and inspired; to serve and not to seek to rest; and to labour, expending even their own personal resources, but did not count the cost.
Couples for Christ (CFC) in Australia started in 1988 in Sydney were a hardy and passionate souls – Tony and Dolly Haber, Moy Lucas, Val and Babes Magpayo, conducted its first Christian Life Program (CLP) in the most modest of venues – a garage. The team and 3 couple participants all excitedly listened to session talks of elders, from CFC Global Mission in Manila, Philippines, recorded in a taped audio format.
Although only 3 couples graduated from this initial salvo, it marked the beginning of a movement —stirred by the dedication of a few, yet compelled by the Holy Spirit, which set the pace for bigger and greater work for the next 30 years and beyond…
